So...

11 Facts about myself:

Questions from Voronda:

1. Language/s You would like to learn?

--->Ummmm...Elvish from LOTR :)

2. Would you rather live on Hoth or Tatooine? For those who don't know Star Wars: North Pole or Sahara Desert?

--->Well, if it's Hoth or Tattooine, I think I'd take Tattooine...no one lives on Hoth, and they have Wampas that eat you. But, in real life-North Pole or Desert...I don't know...i don't like extremem weather conditions...

3. Something that made your day today?

--->Realizing that I don't have to deal with high school physics anymore.

--->Just one group?? Nope...I'm gonna say a bunch, sorry :)
Piano Guys, Lindsey Stirling, John Williams. I'd probably go out to lunch dinner with them a lot, and just hang out, talk about their music, and music techniques and ideas. Give them suggestions for their next videos...learn how cool it was to make their videos...learn how awesome it was to be a part of the Star Wars Saga :D. Oh, and Lara and Taylor Davis, too.

Fun...I think the only song I have heard from them is Some Nights. I like it, or at least Peter Hollens version. And Taylor Swift...I don't really like her music, or at least, the songs I've heard. (Example: We are Never Getting Back Together...ummm, okay...i don't really care...and if you hate him so much...why are you singing a song to him??) Oh, wait...I really like Begin Again--the Piano Guys version.

3. Describe your best friend.

--->Best friend? I don't really have one best friend. Except for my cat, Lilly, who is awsome :D. But, I can describe my friends. They keep dragging me into more fandoms...

4. What did you think/what are you expecting of Iron Man 3?

--->I haven't seen the first two, yet, but it looks really good...now I'm gonna have to see them...

5. Harry Potter or the Hunger Games or Percy Jackson? (It drove me mad to try to answer this one.)

--->Ummm...That's tough...I Ilike Percy Jackson, but it's not my favourite...The Hunger Games...well, I only really liked the first book, and I haven't yet seen the movie. Time for an update, I think....

Wow. I haven't been on blogger in forever. Sorry about that. I've been really busy lately.

One really good book I read while I was away is Erasing Time by C. J. Hill. Here's a quick summary: Twins Sheridan and Taylor are snatched out of their time and into the future. The scientist who took them were really looking for a genius man, but the machine seems to have messed up. Except, there is no way to get back to the past, and the scientists now want to erase the twins' memories. Can they escape this fate, and stop the men from taking anyone else from the past? And who can they trust?

Also saw the Incredibles for the first time...turns out that is just about the only Pixar movie I like...haha

I am now in Season 2 of Doctor Who...2 episodes away from the end...I am postponing Doomsday for as long as I can.

A couple of friends are trying to get me into Homestuck, but I am not so sure about that, yet...Nevertheless, I did end up cosplaying as Rose Lalonde from Homestuck on 16 June for Comic Con.
<--Obviously not the cosplay...that's just Rose from the web comic.

And finally, I have started watching Fullmetal Alchemist, the anime series.

So...how have you been, since I haven't been around to hear from y'all?

Watch Out For Marty McFly...and other random stuff

<-- my friend shared this on Facebook...and I was like NO. WAY!

Reading Mila 2.0 right now...AMAZING. That's all I have to say.
Apparently, it might be made into a TV series by ABC...SO EXCITED!!!

-Update on Doctor Who:
I am now on Series 2. Last one I watched was the Christmas Invasion. And yep, I am still creeped out by The Empty Child...

-I am thinking about starting a Facebook page in addition to the one linked below at the bottom of this blog...anyone interested??

-Cosplay
Comic-Con is coming up again for me...and I have some ideas...now i just need the time to start making them...
         1. Marth from Fire Emblem and Super Smash Bros.

             2. A dress inspired by the TARDIS...possibly to wear to a formal dinner...hehe...

            3. Wings. Both feathered and dragon wings.

So...I am going to be really buisy...hopefully...'cause if I'm not buisy, that means that none of this is getting done.

Oh, yeah...and I've been working on plans for my dream house. More on that later, perhaps.

And yes, when i finish making my costumes, I will post pictures.

Shattered by Dani Pettrey--Review

Title: Shattered
Author: Dani Pettrey
Series: Alaskan Courage-Book 2
Pages: 362
Publisher: Bethany House
Genre: Mystery, Romance
My Rating: 3 Stars

Summary: Piper MacKenna's brother returns home, and he is accused of murder. Reef McKenna had a relationship with the women who was killed, and he was found on the murder scene by two people who testify that he was the killer. The Deputy, Landon Grainger, hates what he has to do. He has known Piper for years...perhaps he has even loved her...and to put her brother in jail, when even he is not completely certain of his guilt...
Piper is completely sure that her brother is innocent. When the police refuse to investigate for another suspect, she decides to take matters into her own hands and find the real murderer herself. But the mystery of the murder of Karli is much more complicated and dangerous than Piper and Landon could have guessed. Will the two of them be able to brave the cold of Alaska and find the real murderer in time to free Piper's brother?

My Thoughts: Well, you must be wondering why I gave this book 3 stars...I do believe it is the lowest rating I have given one of my review books so far....
-Let me first start out with the good things about this book:
The mystery was great. Very intriguing and extremely well written. The fact that this is the second book in the series does not take away from the story (in other words: my library did not have book 1, so I have not read it, but it made perfect sense to skip it and just read this one...)
-Now...for the not so good stuff in this book:
So...Bethany House is a Christian publishing company and I would not exactly consider some of the content in this book very appropriate. (Maybe some of you would be fine with it...but I am not accustomed to reading many books written for adult-Christian or not-so maybe this kind of content is quite normal...idk.
     No swearing...that i recall...that is a great thing...
But then there is the...mature content...
-Karli, the women who was murdered, was a woman involved with many different guys in relationships. One reason why Reef is a main suspect is because they had a fight when Reef found out Karli was cheating on him while they were in a relationship together.
-Deputy Landon Grainger goes to the bar, and while he is there a woman tries to get him to come home with her and spend the night. He says no, but she keeps trying to get him to come.
-Both Landon and Piper have hidden feelings for each other, and they both are said to be "pushing away images of each other"
-In order to uncover secrets about the mystery, Piper attends a party, despite the fact that Landon advises against it. Piper is sure that everything will go okay, but the man who invited her ands up drugging her and tries to take advantage of her. Luckily, Landon arrives just in time before the man can do anything to Piper.
-At the end of the book, Piper and Landon reveal that they are in love with each other and they get engaged. They go into a tree house together and Landon says that when they are married, they can go up there and sleep under the stars and they "will be married so..." The thought is left unfinished, but it definitely applies something...

So, in all, the story was great, but the content is definitely NOT for young people...I would suggest that older teens and adults read this novel. I gave it a 3 start rating because I don't like it when books I read have that type of stuff in it...

Unstoppable by Nick Vujicic--Review

Title: Unstoppable
Author: Nick Vujicic
Series: (None)
Pages: 237
Publisher: WaterBrook Press
Genre: Non-fiction, Inspirational
My Rating: 5 Stars (as a book in general); 4 Stars (If I go by my biased-ness...I don't really like non-fiction...)

Summary/Description: Nick Vujicic was born with out arms or legs. As a young child, he wondered what his purpose in life could be and wondered if God really loved him. Now, he sees that God has a BIG plan for his life, and nothing can get in the way. In Nick's second book, he tells us how to overcome obstacles in life such as challenges in relationships, jobs, heath, addictions, bullying, and other issues people face. This book encourages the reader to face the challenges life throws at us and become unstoppable.

My thoughts: Well, first, please know that I don't normally read non-fiction, but I really wanted to review this book because I find Nick's story so inspiring. In today's society, people face so many different challenges. Bullying, for example, isn't just in school anymore. It's at work, and on the internet, too. And so many people face disease and disability. Nick is a great person to address these issues and more since he is disabled himself. Unstoppable is so encouraging and really shows you that nothing is impossible with God and no matter how terrible your situation is, there is always a way out and a way to encourage others with your experiences. This book not only told Nick's story, but also other people-young and old-who had gone through the trials that were being described. There were quite a few mentions of human trafficing and slavery. But that is the only thing that I might have a problem with in this book (And also the time when he mentioned not calling someone "mummy"...I practically freaked out, but that's just my own personal issue :P )

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review. (Thank you!)

Starflower by Anne Elisabeth Stengl--Review

Title: Starflower
Author: Anne Elisabeth Stengl
Series: Tales of Goldstone Wood-Book 4
Pages: 348
Publisher: Bethany House
Genre: Fantasy
My rating: 5 Stars

Summary: Years ago, a young faerie queen gave herself over to the Dragon. Becoming his first child, she burned her city and became the fearsome Dragonwitch, Hri Sora. Then the Dragon took her wings. Desperate to get them back, she agreed to get the "Flowing Gold." Hri Sora kidnaps Lady Gleamdren, the only one who knows where this "Flowing Gold" is. Eanrin, the bard, loves Lady Leamdren and vows to get her back. The soldier, Glomar, says the same. They both set out to find Gleamdren, but along the way, they encounter a young mortal girl, Starflower, who is unconscious beside a river. Eanrin rescues Staflower and she travels with them to find Lady Gleamdren. Both Eanrin and Glomar seem to think the Starflower is an unnecessary burden, but Starflower seems linked to the Dragonwitch. Is Starflower the key to Lady Gleamdren's rescue?

My thoughts:  Amazing book! I love Anne Elisabeth Stengl's Tales of Goldstone Wood series. The characters and the stories are beautiful. But sometimes they get confusing. I was a bit confused about some of the faerie characters' names and their places in the story. And then, about halfway through the book, Starflower began to tell her story. It really helped to see her background, but when it kept switching between her story and the regular story with Eanrin, it did get a bit confusing.  But...I still give it 5 stars.

I got this book free for review from Bethany House. (Thank you!)

Shine On Award (From Solace)

shineonaward

Rules:
1. Link back to the Blogger who nominated you.
2. Post the badge on your blog. It's pretty. Do it.
3. Answer the questions posed to you. Regardless of how out-of-left-field they may be.
4. Nominate five bloggers who shine a light in your day and be sure to notify them.
5. Issue some questions you'd like them to answer.

Okay...here we go!

1. Thank you, Solace Utara for giving me this award!

2. The award is up there ^ :D

3. Now for the questions...

1.) Who's your role model?

Hmmm...well, Jesus, of course...but if you were asking about a person here today in physical form, I'd have to say my mom. ♥

2.) Why do you blog?

Well, for this blog here, my English teacher asked me to start it so I could share with others the books that I read. After about maybe a year, my friends got me into Star Wars, and I started blogging about that here. That is how I met a lot of you...through Solace's blog, actually. :)  And then came Doctor Who. So yeah, that's how I started blogging...most of this is thanks to my friends (Solace and all of you included).

3.) How do you view Twilight?

I don't like it. No, I've never read it, but I don't like the idea...of vampires, and other things as well. But I don't hate the people who do like it, and I have nothing against the writer, either.

4.) Describe your style of writing.

Umm, I have no idea how to describe m style of writing...actually, to tell you the truth, I haven't done much writing lately...but I mostly write fantasy stories...and I'm currently trying to write a backstory for a minor Star Wars character. (And I have a few other ideas, but I won't tell you yet...)

5.) When do you get a stroke of inspiration the most?

Shower sometimes...also when I'm going to bed...so generally when I can't write the ideas down... :P

6.) What do you do with your stroke of inspiration?

Try to remember it long enough to write it down...

4. Nominations:

The Sith Photagrapher  (You inspire me on your blog, and on your Facebook page :D )

MasterofOblivion (I know you don't blog much, but you are a great friend)

Molly (I love your comments...thanks!)

Aalya Rain (You haven't blogged in a while, but I love reading your posts!)

Shannon Messenger (I don't know if you will do this award thing, but I LOVE your book!)

Amaranthine (love reading your blog!)
