Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are finally off to Gala, where they should have been before their ship was hijacked. The Queen of Gala is dying, but before whe steps down from the throne, she wants her people to elect the next ruler of Gala. But her son, Prince Beju is not happy about the elections.
The Prince will be included as a candidate in the elections, however. But the Queen confides in the Jedi that she does not believe that Beju bear the mark of the crown-he is not the true heir. Can Qui-Gon find the true heir before the elections so the heir may participate? Will they even want to participate? And why is the queen so sick? Is it natural, or is someone poisoning her?
